Who Has The Best Pizza In Oakhurst? Kiwanis Says…

OAKHURST – Kiwanis gathered at a festive football fundraiser Sunday, Jan. 20 at the Community Center, where neighbors and friends weighed in to vote on the age-old question, who has the “Best Pizza in Oakhurst?”

Drum roll, please! The contest winner was…Pizza Factory!

“We had about 170 people there,” says Bruce Howard, who chaired the Kiwanis event. “Great first year turn-out and I’m sure we’ll have more in the future. Thanks to the pizzerias in town, we couldn’t have done it without them. It’s been a great partnership and thanks to Sears for the TVs and DISH Network which provided the signal.”

Due to the generosity ot Dwan Foster at our local Sears Hometown Store, everybody was able to watch the NFL Conference championships on three big screen televisions installed specially for the Kiwanis event.

The five participating restaurants included Roundtable, Me ‘n Eds, Pizza Factory, Di Ciccos and Sugarpine Take & Bake.

Organizers used Raley’s products and presented a series of appetizers complete with recipes, plus an array of tasty desserts.

“Kiwanis will use funds from this event to help fund scholarships for Yosemite High and Minarets High School graduating Seniors, as well as Children’s Hospital and other local programs. We are working with the library on a Kiwanis Children’s Corner to be completed when the library is done,” says Howard, referring to a to-be-designated space within the Oakhurst Branch Library expansion.
