A week-long ramp closure in Madera County is set to begin, as part of ongoing improvements to the Cottonwood Creek area.

MADERA COUNTY — The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), along with Security Paving, announces the week-long closure of the eastbound Avenue 12 on-ramp, to southbound State Route 99, starting next week. Crews will be doing grinding, paving, striping, and guardrail work along the on-ramp.

The following will occur from Monday, July 7th, starting at 6:00 a.m., through Monday, July 14th:

  • Crews will close the eastbound Avenue 12 on-ramp to southbound State Route 99 at 6:00 a.m. on Monday, July 7th.
  • The week-long closure is expected to last through Monday, July 14th.
  • Please plan accordingly.

Caltrans states this is necessary, as the Cottonwood Creek project continues to progress and nears competition.

Due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, the on-ramp closure date may need to be extended.

Commuters should drive with extra care and allow additional time when traveling near construction zones.

Be alert for construction personnel and remember to “Slow for the Cone Zone.”

  • The eastbound Avenue 12 on-ramp, to southbound State Route 99, will be closed starting at 6:00 a.m., on Wednesday, July 9th.
  • The week-long closure is expected to last through Wednesday, July 16th.
