Optimizing Pasture, Supplemental Feed, and Managing Risk
MARIPOSA – With the first part of the season being so dry, many ranchers are dealing with the shortage of forage on their rangelands by buying hay, culling livestock, and supplementary feeding, among other things.
To address the issue of drought, UC Sierra Foothills Research and Extension Center is hosting a workshop addressing this topic, where people can either attend in person or watch a webcast of the presentation online.
Livestock & Natural Resources Farm Advisor, Fadzayi Mashiri, will be hosting ranchers that are interested in watching the webcast in a group setting where, in addition to watching the workshop proceedings, they can share ideas and local experiences.
Come join us on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm at the UCCE Mariposa County Office in the Ag Complex, 5009 Fairgrounds Road, Mariposa CA.
Cost is $10.00 per person. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Seating is limited, registration is required.
