Wawona Residents: COMMUNITY MEETING. There will be a community meeting tomorrow, January 23, at 10:00 am at the Wawona Community Center hosted by the NPS. Community members are encouraged to attend to get first-hand information on the status of the situation in Wawona and what progress is being made. This meeting will be held outside in a COVID-safe environment. There is a slight chance of snow at that time, so please dress accordingly.
Wawona Property Owners: Due to serious public safety concerns, non-resident property owners are advised NOT to travel to Wawona, and will be turned around.
Wawona Road/Highway 41 remains open south of Wawona to residents, resident property owners, and essential services ONLY. There remains a significant safety concern with downed power lines, as well as crews working to clear debris from roadways and other areas.
PG&E is working to implement safety mitigations so that it is safe to be in the area. We will advise when that has been accomplished.
Measures are currently being taken to identify absentee-owner properties that have sustained significant damage needing mitigation before the incoming storm. There are very few. Those property owners will be contacted directly as soon as possible and be allowed to access those properties.
Absentee-owner properties managed by a local property management business are being handled by the management company. Please contact your property manager directly for updates on your property.
