AHWAHNEE – They held back as long as they could, and finally, had no choice but to let nature take its course.
“We couldn’t wait any longer so we introduced the new Wasuma mascot during lunch time instead of waiting for the next assembly,” says Wasuma Elementary PTA rep Lanie Suderman. “It was absolutely amazing and the kids loved it!”
Organizers freed the Wildcat Mascot on Friday, Oct. 9, and the newest member of the Wasuma family promptly danced the Nae Nae.
“Our kids welcomed him with cheers, laughs, hugs, and high fives,” says Lanie. “Each class will vote for a name for our new mascot after fall break, and we will hold tryouts for 8th graders to wear the mascot during sports events, assemblies, awards and more. We look forward to seeing our new mascot boost our Wasuma Wildcat Pride!”
