AHWAHNEE – Wasuma Elementary School principal Jason Mercier reports that administration and staff are “looking forward to the start of another great school year,” and reminds all concerned that the first day of school is Monday, Aug. 18th.
“The office needs verification, for all 7th grade students, that they have received the Tdap/Pertussis/Whooping cough booster vaccination,” explains Mercier. “We need registration packets for all new students, especially new kindergarten students, submitted to the office immediately.”
Parents or guardians should bring with them verification of residency, verification of immunizations, and a birth certificate.
“Kindergarten orientation is Friday, August 15 at 5 p.m.,” adds Mercier, “and the school Office is now open from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m..” Principal Mercier suggests people call the school at (559) 642-1585 with any questions.
Also this academic year, Wasuma welcomes newly hired middle school math/science teacher Kelli Seals. Mrs. Seals, married to Yosemite High School principal Randy Seals, comes to Wasuma from Chowchilla High School.
