BASS LAKE — Miss Slayter’s 4th grade class and Mrs. Seals’ 4th & 5th grade classes at Wasuma Elementary, along with chaperones and some staff members, went to Bass Lake on Sept. 19, to help with cleaning up the lake.
After a long day of work, they had cleaned up three day use areas, two campgrounds, parts of the shoreline and even some of the road.
Millers Landing provided a free lunch and ice cream for those in attendance.
The top items found at the lake were cigarette butts and bottle caps.
According to a Wasuma staff member, one student asked “if they could do this every Thursday.”
The Oakhurst Chamber of Commerce, with the help of Michelle Miller, provided gloves and trash bags.
