Wawona Road Work

Crews are working on a slide stabilization project located approximately 1-mile north of the Wawona Campground.  As part of this stabilization there will be two 4-hour closures each day with a 1-hour opening period between the two 4-hour closures. These closures will extend for 3-weeks and they will be from 8AM to Noon and from 1PM to 5PM each work day through November 18.

The Wawona Road will be closed at the Chilnualna Falls Road on the south end and Henness Ridge Drive on the north end of the closure area. The reason for these 4-hour closures is for safety to prevent vehicles from being hit by slide material or blast rock as the crews work to remove the loose rocks and boulders from this active slide area.

Summary of Delays/Closures:

10/29/20 thru 11/18/20 Mon thru Fri only = 4 Hour Closures (8AM to Noon & 1PM to 5PM)

11/19/20 thru 12/31/20 Mon thru Fri only = 30 Minute Delays

No weekend or night work is scheduled at this time.

Yosemite Valley Information Station Location Correction

Due to a number of factors, the Yosemite Valley information station will remain in front of the visitor center this week. The location shift will still happen, likely as the forecast begins to shift. Announcements will continue to be in the Daily Report to keep everyone updated. The Yosemite Valley Visitor Center building, the Yosemite Museum building, and the theater all remain closed.

Yosemite Bike Share Program Ends Sunday

The prime visitor cycling season has come to an end and Yosemite Bike Share will be closing up for the winter on Sunday, November 8.

Seasonal staff did an incredible job this summer ensuring the bikes were sanitized between rides, relocating bikes throughout the valley, answering lots and lot of visitor questions, and managing the app dashboard.

With the shuttle system not running this summer, the Yosemite Bike Share helped people move around the valley without the need to get back in their cars and drive. Thanks to Yosemite Conservancy for granting this special program and thanks to seasonal staff Nina and Carlos for hosting the most successful season yet!

Ostrander Ski Hut Will not be operating this year.
