Visions of Self Women’s Art Exhibit Opens for Entries

2021 Best of Show: Homage to Evelyn De Morgan by Gabriela Dellosso

OAKHURST–The second annual Visions of Self juried Women’s art show of the “Women’s Voices, Women’s Vision” group of Yosemite Sierra Artists, is accepting entries now through January 31, 2022. The show is open to all artists who identify as female, and work in all media is eligible. Entries can include self-portraits or work depicting environment, emotions or state of being.

The show itself, held virtually, debuts on March 1, 2022, at YosemiteArts.com. Exhibits remain live throughout the month, with an opening reception held on Friday, March 4, 2022, at 5:00 pm Pacific time, via Facebook Live.

Last year’s premiere event attracted 200 pieces of art by 117 artists from ten countries, when the changes experienced throughout 2021 were in full bore. Since that time the world has lived through more of the pandemic and shutdown that have changed how we view ourselves and those around us, cultural divisions that have set the stage for discord and major climactic changes the world over.

2021 First Place: Self Portrait #7 by Brianna Hunt

Women’s responses to these experiences is reflected in the art they create, and Visions of Self invites women the world over to share their personal visions.

How have world events affected individual lives?

How have they changed relationships?

How have they changed our hopes and dreams for the future?

How have they strengthened and motivated us?
