Veterans Monument Dedicated At Oakhurst Lutheran

OAKHURST – Oakhurst Lutheran will hold its 4th annual Flag Day Celebration on June 14, at 6 p.m.

The event will be held at Oakhurst Lutheran, 39255 Black Rd across Rd 426 from PG&E, as this year’s Celebration will include the dedication of the recently completed Veterans’ Memorial Monument.The granite monument includes a bronze plaque with the words, “All Gave Some – Some Gave All, dedicated to the memory of all who proudly served and protected their country.”

The plaque also includes the symbols of the five branches of the Armed Services- Army, Marine Corp, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard, and the monument is inscribed with two scripture verses.

The work on the monument was executed by Meachum’s Memorials in Clovis, and the granite is Raymond granite weighing just under two tons.

Hailey and Delaney Beyers, along with their instructor Tim Johnson, will provide special music for the dedication.

The Flag Day observance will include free American Flags for the children, provided by the Oakhurst Lions Club.

Oakhurst Lutheran Men will provide free hots dogs, chips and beverage for all children 12 and under. There will also be a fundraiser for Wounded Warriors with Tri-Tip sandwiches, chips and beverage available for adults for a suggested donation of $6.00.

Everyone is invited to attend this community event and celebrate along with many from the community’s veterans organizations.
