Vegetation Fire In YLP On Running Deer Court

COARSEGOLD — A vegetation fire in Yosemite Lakes Park today was quickly handled by firefighters.

At 12:46 p.m., crews were dispatched to report of a fire in the 43000 block of Running Deer Court.

A full wildland dispatch was called up, including Cal Fire, Madera County Fire and Fresno Fire engines, dozers, hand crews from Mt. Bullion, and aircraft out of Fresno and Columbia.

The first engine at scene arrived at 12:52 p.m., and reported the fire at about one-quarter acre burning in grass and oak, with a moderate rate of spread and several structures threatened.

At 1:03 p.m., the forward progress of the fire had been stopped and all resources not already at scene were cancelled, expect one Type 3 engine.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

  1. They’ve got a spot on fire crew up here. The local volunteers are amazing and everyone that comes in from Coarsegold Madera is so willing to work together. 10 minutes that’s awesome guys good job!
