MARIPOSA COUNTY — The Spring Fire, burning in the Bootjack area along Highway 49, is holding at 225 acres and is now 80 percent contained. Crews continue to hit hot spots and strengthen fire lines.
There are currently 498 personnel assigned to the incident, including 41 engines, 23 crews and 6 water tenders.
Highway 49 was open to one-lane traffic control as of 10 a.m. this morning, after being shut down overnight. As of 3 p.m., two lanes were open without an escort. The right passing lane on Spring Hill remains closed for fire suppression equipment. Please drive carefully. Watch for fire and utility crews in the area.
Evacuation orders were lifted at 11 a.m. , however Allred Road from Highway 49 to Morning Star Lane is open to residents only.

One structure has been damaged and none have been destroyed. No injuries have been reported.
Cooperating agencies include Cal Fire, the Mariposa County Sheriff Office, Mariposa County Fire, PG&E, Caltrans, Mariposa County Public Works, CHP and the Red Cross.
The Spring Fire started on Sunday, July 2, just after 1:30 p.m.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
