UC Master Gardeners Of Mariposa County Presents A Native Plant Propagation Workshop

MARIPOSA — Native plants, ideally suited to our Mediterranean climate, offer Sierra foothill residents the chance to attract native pollinators to their yards.

In a continuing effort to help area residents build sustainable landscapes, the UC Master Gardeners of Mariposa County would like to invite you to our “Native Plant Propagation” workshop on Saturday, September 21, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., in the Board of Supervisors Chambers, located at 5100 Bullion Street, Mariposa.

Raymond Laclergue from Intermountain Nursery will discuss seed collection and storing, seed stratification, germinating seeds, taking root cuttings, and proper growing media and conditions.  He will also address reforestation and restoration of your property as well as site-specific seed collection. Intermountain Nursery is the only native plant nursery in the central Sierra foothills.

Outlines will be provided as well as advice on local sources for native plants.
