U.S. Census Bureau Still Hiring, Jobs Pay $18/Hr

MOUNTAIN AREA — The U.S. Census Bureau is still looking for people interested in becoming Census Takers or Enumerators. The job pays $18 per hour and 58 cents per mile.

Completion of the Census is critical for the mountain area because accurate counting of the population ensuress eastern Madera County receive its fair share of federal dollars.

The Census is mandated to be completed every 10 years by the U.S. Constitution.

Work schedules are flexible and you work in the area where you live.

While the pandemic temporarily put operations on hold, Census officials anticipate a resumption of operations in the near future.

Those interested must apply online only and can do so at 2020census.gov/jobs.

Veterans are encouraged to apply.
