MADERA COUNTY – The Madera County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Investigation Unit has identified, and is searching for two men wanted for robbery and attempted murder in Coarsegold.
Robert Lee Huber, 20, of Oakhurst, and Adrian Joseph Reyes, 29, of Ahwahnee, are wanted in connection with an aggravated assault case that occurred on Apr. 2 on Konklin Road in Coarsegold.
As they began their investigation, detectives specifically requested that this case not be publicized, to allow them the time they needed to gather information based on evidence they had uncovered. On Monday morning, Apr. 14, they were able to positively identify both suspects as being involved in robbing a man and then shooting him in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Apr. 2.
According to reports, the 30-year-old victim, who is on probation in another county for narcotics, was visiting the mountain area to gamble and party with friends.
At some point during the night, the group decided to hook up somewhere between North Fork and Bass Lake to “party,” and ended up on Konklin Road just off Highway 41, where the two suspects robbed the victim, beat him and then shot him.
The victim, whose name is not being released, is expected to make a full recovery, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Anyone who may have information on the whereabouts of Robert Huber and Adrian Reyes are urged to call the Madera County sheriff’s office at 675-7770 or CRIME STOPPERS at 559-498-STOP.
