Two Vehicle Crash At Victoria Lane

OAKHURST – Two vehicles collided on Highway 41 this evening at Victoria Lane, blocking traffic in both directions for about 15 minutes as the cars were moved onto Victoria Lane.

Kevin Hall, 40, of Oakhurst, was at the stop sign on Victoria Lane in a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer.

According to CHP, he pulled out into the path of an Infinity, driven by James Gomez, 60, of Coarsegold, which was traveling southbound at a stated speed of 40 mph.

The Trailblazer struck the Infinity on the passenger side, and both vehicles came to a stop in the middle of Highway 41, blocking both lanes.

CHP and Madera County Fire Department Engine #12 responded to the scene along with Sierra Ambulance.

A female passenger in the Trailblazer suffered minor injuries and was checked out by Sierra Ambulance personnel at the scene, but was not transported.

Gomez also complained of some minor pains, but also declined to be transported, according to CHP.

The highway was closed down again for about 10 minutes so that crews could clean the oil and debris from the roadway.
