OAKHURST – A woman in a flatbed Ford, waiting to turn left off Highway 49 was struck by another vehicle whose driver failed to see that she was stopped, according to the CHP.
On Tuesday, May 14, just before 5 p.m., Lahni Albertson, 48, of Ahwahnee, was southbound on Highway 49 in a 1986 Ford F150. She was stopped and waiting to turn left onto Covey Court.
Ronald Savolskis, 79, also of Ahwahnee, was also southbound in a 1999 Ford Ranger pickup. Savolskis failed to see the F150 stopped in the roadway, and crashed into the rear of the truck.
Savolskis complained of some pain to his ribs and back, but declined to be transported for medical treatment.
Madera County Fire Department Engine #16 Ahwahnee responded to the scene, along with Squad 12 out of Oakhurst and Sierra Ambulance.
