Two-Vehicle Accident In Oakhurst

OAKHURST – A two-vehicle crash on Highway 41 at Bay Leaf Lane caused some short-term congestion on the north end of Oakhurst this afternoon.

Just before 3 p.m., Lyndsie Carroll, 22, of Oakhurst, had approached the stop sign on Bay Leaf, and was turning right onto Highway 41 in a 2005 Volkswagen Jetta.

According to CHP, she failed to see the 1991 Chevy pickup headed southbound, and pulled out into the path of Frederick Grin, 87, of Mariposa.

Grin reportedly hit the brakes, and swerved to try and avoid the collision, but ended up swiping the side of the Jetta.

Cal Trans was at the scene and assisted with traffic control, and when CHP arrived they pushed the vehicles out of the roadway.

Sierra Ambulance responded and evaluated everyone involved, including both drivers plus a passenger and two minor children in the Jetta, and a young teen in the pickup.

Everyone was determined to be uninjured, and no one was transported for medical treatment.
