Two Mariposa Men Arrested For Burglary

MARIPOSA – On Wednesday, July 31, the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office received a report that a Boyer Road property had been burglarized. A chainsaw and 14 vehicle wheels and tires had been stolen. The property loss was valued near $10,000.

The investigating deputies were assisted when the property owner found similar wheels and tires offered for sale on eBay.

Communication was initiated with the “seller” which led Mariposa County Sheriff’s Deputies and Detectives to a property on Oak Grove Road. It was at the Oak Grove Road property where the reported stolen property was located and two local men were arrested.

Dennis BrownDennis Brown, 25, and Levi Brown, 33, were arrested and charged with Burglary and Possession of Stolen Property. Both Browns are currently held at the Mariposa County Adult Detention Facility were bail has been set at $50,000.

“I’m pleased with the efficient investigation which led to the arrest of the suspects,” said Doug Binnewies, Mariposa County Sheriff/Coroner. “The relationship that our County’s citizens hold with our local law enforcement really does enhance the safety of Mariposa County.”
