OAKHURST – Heavy Friday afternoon traffic and ill-advised turning in front of McDonalds led to another crash on Highway 41 this afternoon.
At about 4:20 p.m. on Friday, May 3, Scott Hester of Oakhurst was northbound on Highway 41 in a 2012 Honda Civic, waiting in the center divide for a left turn into the McDonalds parking lot.
According to CHP, a southbound vehicle in the left-hand lane stopped and motioned for him to proceed. When he did so, he crossed into the path of a 2002 Chevy Tahoe, which was southbound in the right-hand lane. Denise Taff, of Chowchilla, was unable to stop the Tahoe in time to avoid colliding with the Honda.
Sierra Ambulance responded to the scene, but no one was injured. The accident is under investigation.
