Triangle Fire Burning In Midpines Area

MARIPOSA — Just after 3:30 p.m. today a full wildland dispatch was called out to a fire burning in the Midpines area.

The first engine on scene made access via Allred Road, and reported the fire at 5 to 10 acres in grass and brush with a moderate rate of spread.

Two air tankers, two helicopters and Air Attack were soon overhead with engines from Cal Fire, Mariposa County Fire and the Sierra National Forest.

By 4:45 p.m. there was a dozer line across the head of the fire and the forward progress had been stopped. By 5:20 p.m. all aircraft had been released.

At 6:15 p.m. the fire was estimated at 3.76 acres. Any threat to structures has been mitigated.
