Oakhurst Fall Festival Is Two Days Of Fun

OAKHURST – What better way to spend an incredible fall day in the foothills than under white-peaked canopies in a pretty park, perusing your choice of California wines, locally brewed beers, and a wide variety of chocolate, nuts and appetizers. Welcome to the Oakhurst Fall Festival, AKA Chocolate Festival, where you can sample an array of tasty treats while browsing the work of artisans showcasing their wares, and running into all your friends.

The Fall Festival happens Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 11 – 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Oakhurst Community Park. Tickets are $2 per person. There’s plenty for kids and adults to do; from visiting vendor booths, listening to music, and letting the little ones goof off in the bouncies, you grown-ups may just get a chance to have some fun.

Watch for several awesome local breweries and wineries set up for pouring, along with vendors of delicious cheeses, nuts, and importantly, the chocolatiers. Local nonprofit arts organization Vision Academy is promoting a Salsa Fest contest, with a Taster’s Choice category.

In addition to the indulgent chocolate treats, plan to see some eye candy in the form of fancy cars: Bodys by Boyd Collision Repair Center is sponsoring a car show in the park on both days.

Live entertainment scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 11 includes the Yosemite High School Marching Band, the group Rock Therapy, and a 95.7 The Fox live remote. On Sunday, Oct. 12, The Dave Henderson Band will take the stage.

Special attractions both days feature miniature horse rides, a petting zoo, alpacas, children’s carnival and super-fun bounce houses. Adults will enjoy checking out the always-abundant silent auction for great deals.

In addition to the beer, wine, chocolate and other treats, food vendors will be serving delicious lunches and desserts, along with vendors selling hand-made crafts, art, home and garden decor and wine accessories. It’s a great time to get a jump on your holiday shopping, or to pick up a little something for yourself.
