Traffic Control on Highway 49

Mariposa  – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform various operations on State Route 49 next week in Mariposa County.

Work is scheduled to be performed as follows:

Route 49

  • One-way traffic control from the Madera/Mariposa County Line to DeLong Creek for pavement marker replacement on Sunday, December 19, 2021, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • One-way traffic control from the Madera/Mariposa County Line to Varain Road for pavement marker replacement beginning Sunday, December 19, through Thursday, December 23, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
  • One-way traffic control from the Madera/Mariposa County Line to Varain Road for guardrail work beginning Monday, December 20, through Thursday, December 23, 2021, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Motorists should expect 5- to 10-minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible.

This work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment, and/or materials and construction related issues.
