Traffic Advisory Along State Route 140 in Mariposa County

Caltrans Conducting Roadway Repair Project Along State Route 140 in Mariposa County

MARIPOSA COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will begin a pavement rehabilitation project next week on State Route 140 from the Mariposa/Merced County Line to approximately 1 mile east of Trower Road in Mariposa County.

Approximately 24 miles of roadway will be ground and then overlayed with rubberized asphalt concrete to improve the ride quality and prevent costly repairs in the future on a key route for residents, businesses, and visitors of Mariposa, surrounding communities, and Yosemite National Park.

Construction is scheduled to begin on Monday, September 12, and continue until November 2022. Crews will employ one-way traffic control between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. Monday through Friday.

Motorists should expect delays of up to 10 minutes and are advised to take alternate routes whenever possible.

The estimated $5.1 million project will be conducted by Cal Valley Construction of Fresno, CA.

This work is scheduled to begin as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, equipment availability and/or materials, and construction-related issues.
