Tombstone Tourism Talk At Fresno Flats

OAKHURST — Fresno Flats Historical Park and Museum continues the free First Friday Lecture Series this week with a lecture on “Tombstone Tourism” for Aug. 3.

Best-selling author and historian Sharon Giacomazzi has hiked and backpacked 13,000 miles in the past 35 years and continues to explore our local mountain area. She plans to share stories and about 40 photographs of fascinating local discoveries, including some rarely-seen tombstones and cemeteries in our mountain area.

Doors open at the Cunningham School house at Fresno Flats at 6 p.m. Light refreshments will served. Presentation starts at 6:30 p.m. Seating is limited.

There’s also an opportunity for those who attend the Friday lecture to take part in private tour with Sharon on Saturday, Aug. 4. The field trip will include stops at memorial sites in Fish Camp and Bass Lake.
