Three Vehicle Accident On Road 426

OAKHURST – A three vehicle accident on Road 426, just west of Oakridge Drive near the Llama Ranch, slowed traffic and damaged all vehicles, but no one was seriously injured in the crash.

At 12:35 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 22, a 2004 Lexus, driven by Amanda Keller, 21, of Simi Valley, was headed westbound toward Oakhurst when the driver lost traction on the tight turn, crossed the center line, ran into the bank on the opposite side of the road, and rolled over, according to CHP Officer Chapa, who responded to the call.Road 426 at Llama Ranch - Photo by John-Mark BrixAs the Lexus was overturning, a 2008 Chevy Equinox, driven by Kristine Rich, 62, of North Fork, rounded the tight corner, saw the car in her lane, but was unable to stop in time to avoid hitting it.

A third vehicle, a 2013 Subaru Forester, driven by Thomas Ziegler, 70, of Oakhurst, was just behind the Chevy, and he clipped the rear end of Rich’s car, which then slid off the road, coming to rest up against a tree.

Officer Chapa tells us that, aside from Keller complaining of some minor back pain, no one was seriously hurt in the crash. However, a dog riding in Keller’s Lexus was apparently injured, and Animal Control responded to transport the dog.
