The Willow Creek History Tour

EASTERN MADERA COUNTY – The Coarsegold Historical Society is offering a new tour exploring the local area and its history.

On May 17 and again on Sept. 20, The Willow Creek History Tour will explore the Willow Creek area near North Fork and Bass Lake, led by Marcia Penner Freedman, author of Willow Creek History – Tales of Cow Camps, Shake Makers & Basket Weavers.

The tour will leave the Coarsegold Historic Museum on Highway 41 at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, travel up Road 200 to North Fork and then on to Bass Lake. There will be several stops of interest and a running commentary of historic interest.

In North Fork, Erin Potter of the U.S. Forest Service will give a talk on the area. The tour will end at 3 p.m.

Lunch and dessert are included in the price of the tour which is $40.

The Coarsegold Historic Museum is located at 31899 Highway 41 just south of the Chukchansi Casino.
