OAKHURST — Songs of the late, great man in black will ring out over guests at the Oakhurst Community Center as The Only Johnny Cash Tribute Band takes the stage on Saturday, May 26. The show starts at 7 p.m. and the nonprofit Mountain Community Women (MCW), dedicated to the upkeep of the community center, will benefit from sales at the no-host bar.

This performance is a first for the community center, and promises to be a great evening of music, including some audience participation.

“I love Johnny Cash,” says lead Danny Millsap, who saw the performer live at a Fresno concert in 1990. “I have always been a fan of his style of country music and the mystery he brought to the stage, and after seeing him in concert I was hooked.”

After Johnny Cash died in 2003, Millsap was determined to keep the music alive, and remains committed to that ideal today.

“No matter where we go, it is an honor to recreate the style, mystery and music of the legendary Johnny Cash. We promise to be true to the Cash sound and make Johnny proud. You can also help to keep the music going by coming to one of our shows and buying Johnny Cash music today!

Tickets to see The Only Johnny Cash Tribute Band at the Oakhurst Community Center, with bar proceeds to benefit MCW, are $20 plus handling fee. Purchase tickets here
