O’NEALS — It became official on Thursday, Jan. 7: we scored the winning goal and the final whistle blew to declare full time and conclude the game. Minarets High School Varsity soccer had beaten Yosemite 4-2.
The feeling was rare, since this was the first time the Mustangs had defeated the Badgers (in a 2-point lead). The boys from Minarets cheered with the joy of accomplishment and the feeling of leaving all the effort and dedication on the field.
A day later, the team could not slow down their mouths while discussing our first win the night before.
A huge topic from the chatter mouths were highlights of the game, and some moments shared by the individual who was out on the field.
“Do you remember in the second half, I was in the open field and I pulled a move on the defense and I got a shot off,” exclaimed Jacob Cullen who played forward, attacking the defensive line to go for a goal.
The victory against YHS was truly a glory to be shared and a night to remember.
