COARSEGOLD — The Coarsegold Community Center is in need of support from the community it has served for over 70 years.

We’re living in challenging times that require us all to pull together and offer help.

Like a lot of organizations and businesses across the country, operation costs have risen, but the amount of support has not.

Provides volunteer opportunities

As a nonparent organization, The Coarsegold Community Center is 100% managed by volunteers. There are many reasons why people volunteer. Some want the opportunity to give back and do great things. Others require a break from day-to-day life and find solace in volunteering. It gives people a chance to build their confidence and feel part of a team.

Positively impact the lives of the community’s youth.

The Community Center supports several youth organizations in the area. Organizations like the Boy & Girl Scouts, 4H, and local schools, provide a place to have fundraisers for various causes. The Community Center also supports Madera County First 5 Program. The Community Center hosts some amazing kid-friendly events like Ice-cream socials anFamiley Move Night Coarsegold d movie nights. This provides a safe and fun place for the community’s youth to gather with friends.

 Encourages creativity and culture    Mountian Garden Series

Arts and crafts fairs at the Community Center are very popular. Local artists have had art displayed at the Community Center. Mountain Gardening classes can help you meet other garden enthusiasts. Other activities like Yoga, Jazzercise, and Bingo encourage new members of the community to get involved.

Sharing valuable Information with the Community

When a disaster hits, the first thing people think of is getting as much information as possible. If resources like power and internet are interrupted, most people will head to the nearest Community Center.

The Coarsegold Community Center has been the Red Cross Evacuation Center, Voting Center, and DCF Wildfire Information Center.

County Meeting Place

Madera County has used the Coarsegold Community Center to conduct public meetings for the connivance of the residents of Coarsegold. Town Hall meetings, Political debates, and other community meetings are welcome and open to all of the residents in the area.

Community Outreach

Part of the community center’s purpose is to serve the needs of the community. Coarsegold Community Center provides a place for a Food Bank, Senior Lunch Program, and Church services.

Guides, brochures, flyers, newsletters – you name it, your community center will have it. Stay connected with what’s going on in the community.
