FISH CAMP — Blondes, ales, IPAs and stouts will take center stage at Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite during the inaugural High Sierra Hops craft beer weekend on Friday and Saturday, June 1 and 2.
Presented in partnership with South Gate Brewing Company, the celebratory weekend will showcase some of the best craft beer the area has to offer at an exclusive beer pairing dinner and a relaxed backyard barbecue brew party.
Beer lovers can come for the day or purchase an overnight package that includes accommodations and access to all the fun.
“It’s fun to work with our local South Gate Brewing Company to present unique pairing menus for these two different events,” said Frederick Claubaugh, Executive Chef at Tenaya Lodge. “Our beer weekend will introduce guests to a range of delicious local flavors, all inspired by the beautiful High Sierra setting and premium locally sourced ingredients. It’s a fun, relaxed celebration to kick off the summer season.”
The High Sierra Hops weekend will begin with an exclusive adults-only Beer Pairing Dinner at Tenaya’s open-air Pavillion on Friday, June 1, from 6 to 9 p.m.
The evening begins with a beer and hors d’oeuvres reception followed by a three-course dinner paired with local craft beer. Over the course of the meal, brewmasters from South Gate Brewing Company will be “on tap” to share tasting notes and fun anecdotes about each brew.
Live music from Eva Scow will round out the night at this intimate event for a select number of guests. Tickets to the beer pairing dinner are $125 per person.
On Saturday, June 2, guests can let loose and revel in the fresh mountain air at a relaxed Pool Party Tasting event.
This family-friendly celebration takes place at the outdoor pool and surrounding lawn area and includes signature South Gate Brewing Company pints and tastings, as well as gourmet barbecue eats, live music by local band HR7 and fun lawn games. Attendees receive a souvenir High Sierra Hops mug to commemorate the fun.
The event takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. and is $85 per adult and $35 per child ages 3 to 12.
