MADERA COUNTY — Around 10 a.m. this morning, the Madera County Sheriff’s Office received a call for a possible drowning in Hensley Lake, just south of Raymond.
The Sheriff’s Search and Rescue team was dispatched to the incident, reported to be near the campground area. Cal Fire also responded.
KMPH Fox 26 is reporting that at about 11 a.m., two Madera Sheriff dive team deputies located the teenage boy in 10 feet of water in the Hidden View Camp area of the lake, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
As soon as the teen was retrieved from the water, CPR was started but was unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The name of the victim is not being released at this time.
