OAKHURST – The “guns” may have claimed the title last year, and taken home the trophy, but this year the competition is confident of victory in the second annual Guns & Hoses Slow Pitch Softball Tournament scheduled for Saturday, Apr. 11.
The teams have been announced and it’s sure to be a day of fierce competition, with first responders and YHS alumni taking the field at 9 a.m.
Here are the teams who have signed up to do battle:
Oakhurst CHP and Madera County Sheriff’s Office – these are the guys with the guns
Madera County Fire Department – these are the guys with the hoses
Cal Fire, Coarsegold – some more guys with hoses
YHS Alumni – no guns, no hoses, just Badgers!
Bring the whole family and enjoy a perfect spring day at the YHS softball fields as you cheer on your favorite emergency responders and/or former high school students. You will also be helping to raise much-needed funds for the Lady Badgers softball teams.
Opening ceremonies begin at 8:30 a.m., with the first pitch at 9:00. (Be sure to have your bracket filled in!)
Admission is free, parking is free, and there will be food booths to help refuel both players and spectators.
Organizers encourage the public to come on out to the ball game and “join the fun watching our local heroes while raising money for our Lady Badger Softball teams!”
