Supervisors To Vote Tuesday On North Fork Roundabout

MADERA – The Madera County Board of Supervisors will decide at their regular meeting Tuesday whether to approve a $1.97-million dollar contract to build Madera County’s first public roundabout in North Fork at the intersection of Roads 225 and 274.

The controversial project has been in the planning stages for nearly three years and would be funded, in large part, by a federal clean-air grant.

On Tuesday, May 7, supervisors will decide whether to OK a contract with Fresno-based American Paving to construct the roundabout. American Paving submitted the lowest of five bids on the project.

A public hearing, scheduled to take place at 10:30 a.m. at the Government Center at 200 W. 4th Street in Madera, will be held before supervisors vote on the contract.
