MARIPOSA – The Mariposa County Arts Council is now accepting submissions for their annual Young Masters Youth Exhibition, scheduled to open on Thursday, Feb. 28, at the Treetop Gallery.
This annual exhibition provides youth in Mariposa an opportunity to express their ideas, narratives and inspirations, and share them with their community through their own piece of visual artwork.
This year’s theme, “Sonic Vision,” invites Mariposa’s youth to take an imaginative approach to visualizing sound, touch, smell or taste.
Work in the following media will be accepted:.
- photography
- drawings
- paintings
- prints
- mixed media
- 3-dimensional work (wood, metal, cloth, jewelry, papier mache, and sculpture)
- multimedia/digital work
Youth living in Mariposa County who are between the ages of 5 and 18 are encouraged to submit one piece of work to the Mariposa County Arts Council for consideration. The deadline is Monday, Feb. 18.
An opening reception for the exhibition will be held on Thursday, Feb. 28, between 3:30 and 5 p.m. at the Treetop Gallery, and work will be available for viewing until Mar. 31.
