JUNE LAKE — A benefit concert for Ukrainian refugee children, featuring musicians whose background include stints with Linda Ronstadt, Diana Ross, Emmylou Harris, Tom Petty, John Denver and more, will take place at the T-Bar Social Club in June Lake on Saturday, June 18, at 8 p.m.
Still Got It will take you back in time with covers of classic country and folk songs as well as originals that celebrate the Eastern Sierra and even June Lake itself. The band, assembled specifically for this event, includes the legendary Herb Pedersen on banjo, guitar and dobro. Pedersen’s career at the highest levels of the music industry includes being a bandmate with Ronstadt, Harris, Petty, the Byrds’ Chris Hillman and countless other luminaries.
Bassist Pete Freiberger toured with Diana Ross, Bobby Vinton and Yvonne Elliman, to name a few. And guitar/vocalist Jordan Sollitto’s recently released CD “Once Around the Lake” features many of the tunes to be performed.
It’s bound to be a magical evening, especially as all proceeds will go to UNICEF’s Ukraine-specific initiative to benefit that war-torn nation’s hundreds of thousands of refugee children.
