OAKHURST — Just before 3 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a fight taking place between bikers on Winding Way below Supernaws BBQ.
When deputies arrived at scene, they found one person down with critical injuries reported as a stabbing. An ambulance and a SkyLife helicopter were dispatched, and CPR was performed on the injured man.
The fight was reportedly between rival bikers, and detectives were called to the scene to investigate the incident and interview the witnesses.
The altercation was characterized as a fight involving “rival motorcycle gangs,” and those still at the scene were described as “uncooperative” by deputies.
At least eight subjects are being interviewed, and Winding Way has been closed down as the investigation continues. Deputies at scene are requesting more law enforcement respond to the scene, including deputies patrolling at Bass Lake.
At 3:07 p.m., the air ambulance was cancelled and the subject was reported deceased.
CHP and Madera County Engine 12 also responded to assist.
