Soroptimists to Host ‘Dream It – Be It’ Career Conference for Girls

OAKHURST — Soroptimist International of The Sierras will be hosting its 5th annual ‘Dream It – Be It’ Career Conference for area girls later this month.

The free event will take place Jan. 25 in Oakhurst.

Seating for the conference is limited and attendees must pre-register and also provide a signed parental consent form, which is available on the club’s website.

The conference is scheduled for Saturday (Jan. 25) from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Oakhurst Community Center.

Limited seating is available for 8th to 12th grade high school girls.

There will be fun, exciting goodie bags given to each girl in attendance, prizes to win, activities, fun games, dream boards and of course, inspirational speakers who will be sharing their life stories and what paths they took to reach their chosen careers.

The club’s monthly meetings are 1st and 3rd Thursdays at Oakhurst Grill Restaurant from noon to 1 pm.

Soroptimist is an International volunteer organization that was founded in 1921 in Oakland, California. Soroptimist has approximately 95,000 members in 120 countries and territories. Soroptimist members belong to local clubs which determine community focus projects and programs in addition to supporting organization-wide programs, all of which benefit women and girls.
