Soquel Ditch Bridge Update

SIERRA NATIONAL FOREST – The Soquel Ditch Bridge on Sky Ranch Road is being replaced and a one way detour system is being used to get up and down the mountain.

Over the last week, the Forest Service has put significant efforts into grading, watering and rocking the detour.  The detour is now operational for use.  The signing will be upgraded early next week.

This route is much narrower than the hard surface, double-lane Sky Ranch Road, but it is easily passable by passenger cars and recreational vehicles.  The new bridge is expected to be opened by Oct. 1.

Work began on the Soquel Bridge on Tuesday, July 7. Crews have removed the bridge and will work for the next few weeks to put in a new, double-wide bridge.

If you have any questions about the project itself or the detour, please contact Tom Lowe, Civil Engineer, in the Clovis Office at 559-297-0706 extension 4860 or tlowe@fs.fed.us, or Antonio Cabrera, Forest Engineer at 559-297-0706 extension 4842 or acabrera02@fs.fed.us.
