Social Media Class Led by Anne Driscoll Offered through Oakhurst Chamber

OAKHURST–If you know, you know. If you don’t, you need to.

Social media can be an incredible time suck or the biggest boon your business has ever seen. It all depends on you.

The feeling of being overwhelmed and not knowing where to start is real. With Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok…the list goes on and on – where do you begin? It’s easy to just write off the necessity of social media but with each day they provide new and powerful avenues of reaching your clients and customers. Now is the perfect time to embrace the power behind social media strategy and begin applying it to your business.

Anne Driscoll, founder/owner of Build Media Marketing.

Anne Driscoll, founder and owner of  Build Media Marketing can take some of the stress away from your business marketing in just three hours, while giving you the confidence and tools necessary to thrive in the burgeoning social media climate. The upcoming  Social Media Empowerment Academy will take place at the Candace Flammang Community Room of the Oakhurst Branch Library on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 9:00 am to noon. During that time, Anne will help kickstart your love of social media and set you on the right path to grow your business and brand in 2022.

The Social Media Empowerment Academy was created in conjunction with the Oakhurst Area Chamber of Commerce to provide local businesses, authors, artists, gift stores…anyone with a product to sell (even if that product is themselves) an in-depth, hands-on experience to boost their business brand & social media acumen.

Emphasis on hands-on

Please come prepared and bring your laptop, phone, notepad, colored pens and highlighters and a calendar (either online or paper—Anne encourages paper). Bring or know your passwords. Be prepared to get down in the trenches.

Hands-On Class Open to All

This workshop is open to men and women, newcomers and even seasoned marketers. You don’t have to be a Chamber member to attend. The class focuses on creating a cohesive marketing plan and calendar to utilize throughout 2022, a deep dive into ways to utilize scheduling on Facebook, Instagram, and other social media platforms, Google Business and the importance of consistency in marketing. Knowing what to use, when and how takes the guesswork out and puts the fun back in.

This academy will help you determine which social media platform is right for you and how to integrate those you truly need for your specific business. You’ll spend less time, gain more followers (and gain the potential for more income)!

Build Media Marketing specializes in training and assisting businesses with building their social media strategies and brands. Build Media Marketing began at the request of a friend who needed some assistance keeping up with her business blog and growing her social media following and now enters its 12th year of business. Begun when using social media for business was in its infancy, Build Media has assisted 100+ clients with social media audits, business branding, social media training, marketing planning, visual merchandising, and store design & layout.

Anne Driscoll is no stranger to retail or marketing. She started her career in retail at 19 and quickly moved on to department manager and team member of the regional buying and merchandising team at Longs Drugs, assisting with the opening of over 27 stores in locations throughout California. After 13 years, she moved on to become a Team Leader at Whole Foods Market in the Whole Body Department and also on the Marketing Team.

During her tenure at Whole Foods, she and her husband Brad became parents to Sandra, leading Anne to want more flexible work to be with her daughter. After leaving Whole Foods, Build Media Marketing was born, leading people through the landscape of blogging, a new thing called Facebook and business branding.

Anne wins OACC 2018 OACC President’s Award

Anne and her family landed in Oakhurst soon after, and opened Branches Books & Gifts (2013 – 2020), held a director position on the OACC Board of Directors for 3+ years, worked with numerous non-profits and chaired the 2017 Fall Festival. As a measure of her service to the mountain community, in 2018 she received the coveted (and rarely awarded) President’s Award from the Oakhurst Area Chamber of Commerce. After a hiatus due to COVID and a move to Fresno, she is back in Oakhurst as the Director of Partnerships, Marketing & Advertising at Yosemite Cinema, where she puts into play those well-honed skills.

Registration is open now for the Social Media Empowerment Academy at $40 per person. That’s a lot of education for next to nothing.
