NORTH FORK – A sharp corner, a bit of fog and an inexperienced driver led to a single vehicle accident this afternoon on Road 223.
An 18-year-old driver, who was eastbound on Road 223 (Teaford Saddle) and not familiar with the dangerous curve just past Road 420 (Thornberry Road) crashed her Ford F150 off the right side of the road just before 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 21.
The truck plunged about 50 feet down the embankment before coming to rest. The driver and her 17-year-old passenger both suffered minor injuries.
CHP warns drivers that this is a very dangerous curve, especially with icy winter conditions, and urges everyone to always proceed with caution through this area.
