Sierra Tel Unveils 2019 Directory Honoring First Responders

OAKHURST – The staff at Sierra Tel was joined by many of our first responders today as they unveiled their 2019 telephone directory at the Mariposa County Courthouse and at their Headquarters Office in Oakhurst. Sierra Tel serves both Eastern Madera and Mariposa Counties.

The 392-page directory pays tribute to, and shows appreciation for, the first responders in our local communities who are our family, friends and neighbors.

Adorning the cover of the directory is a silhouette of first responders, an American flag, and photos of our local agency’s badges.

With all of the recent fires and the loss of members of our communities, Sierra Tel felt a great need to show their support and thankfulness for those who so selflessly serve and protect us.

In choosing this design for their cover, Sierra Tel honors all those members of the Madera and Mariposa County Sheriff’s Offices, Madera and Mariposa County Fire Departments, Sierra Ambulance, Mercy Ambulance, the California Highway Patrol, Cal Fire and the National Park Service.

“Tasked with protecting the safety and health of our communities, first responders courageously serve us on a daily basis. Managing crisis situations and working in dangerous environments, they save those in need of rescue – often putting their own lives on the line.

“Sierra Tel extends our utmost gratitude to these first responders, who have made a difference in so many lives. We recognize your bravery, skill and passion – and we want to ensure that your sacrifices do not go unnoticed.” (Acknowledgement on the back cover of the 2019 directory).

Sierra Tel hopes that all of their customers and community members enjoy the book and take a moment to reflect on what they are thankful for during this holiday season and all through the year.

The new directory includes business and residential phone numbers for Oakhurst, Ahwahnee, Bass Lake, Fish Camp, Yosemite, Coarsegold, Raymond, North Fork, Mariposa, Catheys Valley, Coulterville, Hornitos, Mt. Bullion and Midpines.

The directory also includes useful information about government representatives, emergency preparedness and emergency numbers, senior services, caller ID blocking, Sierra Tel customer services, schools, community information and a calendar of events.

Over 20,000 copies of the directory will be distributed through the mail starting approximately Jan. 2, 2019, and additional copies will be available at Sierra Tel offices in mid-February.
