OAHURST – Sierra Tel has announced that “after strategic review and much deliberation,” the Sierra Tel Business Center storefront location in the Old Mill Village Shopping Center in Oakhurst will be closing effective May 31.
“Our Business Center has been proud to serve the evolving needs of the community while striving to provide excellent customer service,” said Sierra Tel in a statement released today.
“Now in our 21st century environment of digital technology, online shopping, paperless transactions and more, the majority of our customers’ and our community’s needs have changed. We now find that the level of community demand no longer exists to support continued operation of the Business Center.
“Thank you to our many customers of the Business Center over the years. We very much appreciate your support. We salute our Business Center staff and have been proud to serve our community for all this time.
“Sierra Tel continues to serve the community and invest in new technology and services for our local customers through Telephone, Internet, Long Distance, and a host of other products while providing friendly local customer service support.”
For those who are Verizon customers, there is a Verizon store in the Raley’s shopping center. For those of you who will surely want to know what’s next for our friends and neighbors who make up the “gang” at Serra Tel Business Center, we will give them a chance to let this sink in and follow up in a few weeks.
