Sierra Children’s Preschool Enrolling Now

OAKHURST — Sierra Children’s Preschool Program at Oakhurst Elementary School (OES) is accepting applications for enrollment in the 2016-2017 school year for the afternoon session, scheduled from 12:15 – 3:15 p.m.. Lunch is provided to all students enrolled.

Applications are being accepted at the Oakhurst Elementary School office. Priority will be given to children:

1. Who are foster children (3-5 years old) on Sept. 1, 2016
2. Whose 5th birthday falls between Sept. 2- Dec. 2, 2016 (Transitional Kindergarten age) and not enrolled in a Kindergarten program
3. Who turn 4 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2016
4. Has a doctor approved disability (speech, social, emotional, physical)
5. Who turn 3 on or before Sept. 1, 2016
6. Income

Sierra Children’s Preschool program recently was recognized as a 2016 “High Quality” Program, as part of its association with the California State Preschool QRIS Block Grant, says OES Principal Kathleen Murphy.

The preschool program is taught by a fully qualified and certified early childhood teacher, providing an effective language-based preschool program aligned with the California Department of Education preschool standards. The program follows the same school calendar as Oakhurst Elementary School.
