Sierra Art Trails Catalog Now Available

Submitted by Jon Bock –

The Sierra Art Trails 2014 catalog is now available online and at select locations in the Foothills and Central Valley.

The Central Sierra has always attracted artists. Poets, writers, painters and photographers have been drawn to the majestic landscapes and natural wonders of the region for nearly 200 years.

Today, perhaps more than ever, artists are drawn to the area to find their muse, and many have made the Yosemite Foothills their home.

Twelve years ago we realized the value of this cultural treasure, and wondered how we could share it with others. This spark of inspiration quickly burst into flame, and Sierra Art Trails was born. It has been a great pleasure to collaborate with veteran artists, to learn from them and watch them refine their craft, and to welcome new artists to our area. It is an even greater pleasure to have the opportunity to share our thriving art community with the public.

Our annual Open Studio Tour provides the opportunity to meet the artists in person, visit studios, ask questions, view demonstrations, and see the creative process at work. You may enter a studio and find a watercolorist demonstrating a technique, watch a woodworker turning a bowl, or see a ceramic artist working with clay. The show also offers a unique opportunity to purchase original fine arts and crafts directly from the people who create them.

Your catalog is your “Ticket for Two” for the Sierra Art Trails Open Studio Tour, the largest and most anticipated art event in the area!

This year’s show will take place Friday through Sunday, Oct. 3 through 5, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The cost of admission for two adults to all Sierra Art Trails locations is $18, and includes the annual Sierra Art Trails Catalog.

The catalog provides details on attending the show, a list of participating artists, examples of their work, and detailed maps to get you there.
