MADERA COUNTY – Sierra Art Trails is kicking off our 2014 activities with a Call to Artists for our first Spring Special Exhibit, “Valley View – Yosemite Trails, Currents, and Visions.”
The exhibit is presented in association with the 150th Anniversary Celebration of the Yosemite Grant, signed into law by Abraham Lincoln in 1864, and will open to the public at Stellar Gallery in Oakhurst on Apr. 5.
We are very pleased to announce the 12th annual Sierra Art Trails Yosemite Foothills Open Studio Tour. The show is the largest and most anticipated arts event in the area, featuring artists and artisans working in a wide range of media including painting, photography, jewelry, sculpture, fiber arts, woodcarving, ceramics, glass, and more! Participating artists are featured in the tour catalog, included in a month-long Preview Exhibit, and benefit from an extensive advertising campaign promoting the event.
2014 promises to be a benchmark year for Sierra Art Trails. Sales figures for participating artists have improved significantly over the past two years. We see this as a sign of economic recovery in our area. Attendance improved in 2013 as well. Visitors came from throughout California and beyond, and were truly excited to join us for the three day annual event.
