Missing At-Risk Madera Man Has Been Located

MADERA – The Madera County Sheriff’s Office has announced that a man reported missing has been located.

69-year-old Leonardo Chaidez was found on Tuesday morning, May 21, in a rural area of Madera County by farm workers, according to the Sheriff’s Office. He is safe and appears to be in good condition. As a precaution, Mr. Chaidez is being transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.

Mr. Chaidez was reported missing on Monday, May 20, after having last been seen by family around 7:30 a.m. in the area of Avenue 13 and Road 29 in Madera County. He is a dementia patient who is enrolled in the Sheriff’s Office’s Operation Lost and Found program.

The Madera County Sheriff’s Office appreciates the public for their assistance and widespread sharing of information to bring attention to this case.
