Search On For Missing Coarsegold Man

COARSEGOLD – Madera County Sheriff’s deputies and volunteers are currently searching for a missing Coarsegold man. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Al Veater, 85, has memory problems. Mr. Veater is said to have left his residence on Veater Ranch Road where he was last seen at his at about 3 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28. Mr. Veater reportedly left the premises in a gray 2003 Ford F150 4X4 extended cab pickup, California license plate 7G02708.

Mr. Veater is 5 feet 6 inches tall with a bald head. He was last seen wearing a brown sweatshirt, blue jeans, and tan slip on shoes.

The Sheriff’s Office says Mr. Veater drove away from his residence once before and was found parked on the side of the road in his neighborhood; at this time his neighborhood has been checked and he has not been located. His pickup was possibly seen driving south on Highway 41 at Road 200 at about 5:15 this morning.

Anyone who has seen Mr. Veater or his pickup this morning is asked to call 911 or the Madera County Sheriff’s Office at (559) 675-7770.

UPDATE Oct. 28: Mr. Veater was reportedly located in Fresno in good condition according to the Madera County Sheriff’s Office.
