Sheriff’s Crime Log Through Sept. 24

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Monday, Sept. 18 to Sunday, Sept. 24 2017.

Oakhurst warrant citation
On Monday, Sept. 18 at 12:46 a.m. a deputy initiated a vehicle stop conducted on the 40000 block of CA-41. The male driver was found to have a $5,000 misdemeanor warrant for his arrest. Subject was cited and released with a promise to appear. Close case.

Raymond theft
On Monday, Sept. 18 at 7:02 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 32000 block of Miller Street regarding stolen property. Report written, property recovered and case closed.

Oakhurst vandalism
On Monday, Sept. 18 at 8:50 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to a vandalism that occurred in the area of Indian Rock Road and CA-49. A report was taken for documentation. Currently, there are no suspects or witnesses.

Coarsegold vandalism
On Monday, Sept. 18 at 8:12 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Road 415 regarding vandalism. Report taken, evidence obtained and case closed.

Oakhurst threatening mail
On Monday, Sept. 18 at 1:49 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the Oakhurst substation regarding a citizen that received threatening mail.

Raymond danger to self
On Monday, Sept. 18 at 10:22 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a residence located within the 31000 block of Road 600, regarding a possible overdose of an unknown drug. During the investigation it could not be confirmed if any illicit drug was used. The male adult was acting as though he was in pain but refused any medical examination or treatment. He had told his mother he was planning to kill himself prior to our arrival. The male was placed on a mental health evaluation hold and transported via ambulance to a hospital for evaluation and/or treatment.

Coarsegold missing juvenile
On Tuesday, Sept. 19 at 12:04 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to a residence located within the 47000 block of Sunshine Terrace Drive regarding a report of a runaway teenage juvenile. This case has been forwarded to the Sheriff’s Detective Division for follow up investigation. The juvenile has been entered into the NCIC, Missing and Unidentified Persons System.

Ahwahnee Coroner’s report
On Tuesday, Sept. 19 at 3:01 am. a deputy was dispatched to the 43000 block of Peterson Creek Road regarding a Coroner’s report. Report to be forwarded to the Chief Deputy Coroner.

Oakhurst juvenile making suicidal statements
On Tuesday, Sept. 19 at 12:26 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 50000 block of Road 427 regarding a juvenile making suicidal statements.

Coarsegold fraud
On Tuesday, Sept. 19 at 1:57 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 35000 block of CA-41 in regards to a person attempting to cash a counterfeit check. Upon arrival, the suspect had left the area. Currently, the suspect(s) are unknown. The reporting party is contacted and a statement is obtained. Report to be forwarded to the detective unit for possible follow.

North Fork child welfare investigation
On Tuesday, Sept. 19 at 2:31 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 33000 block of Road 228 in regards to a possible child abuse investigation. Upon arrival, the allegations were unsubstantiated. A general incident report was taken and follow up will be conducted with the Madera County Child Welfare Services, due to the current living conditions of the children.

Coarsegold danger to self
On Tuesday, Sept. 19 at 3:51 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 32000 block of Picayune Creek Court regarding a possible suicidal subject. The subject was placed on a mental health evaluation hold and transported to a hospital for a mental health evaluation.

Oakhurst air compressor stolen
On Tuesday, Sept. 19 at 5:55 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to telephone a female regarding a theft of an air compressor from her residential property located within the 39000 block of Honeysuckle Lane.

Coarsegold theft
A deputy was dispatched to the 32000 Road 400 regarding a theft of a wallet and sunglasses. The wallet was later found but the sunglasses are still missing. There are no suspect(s) or investigative leads at this time.

Coarsegold assault
On Wednesday, Sept. 20 at 3:30 a.m. a deputy was dispatched the the 46000 block of Lucky Lane regarding an assault. An investigation was conducted and the victim elected not to purse charges. A report was written for documentation purposes.

Oakhurst theft report
On Wednesday, Sept. 20 at 9:02 a.m. a deputy received a letter regarding property stolen from the 40000 block of Hwy 41 in Oakhurst. Report written and case closed.

North Fork family disturbance and intoxication
On Wednesday, Sept. 20 at 9:45 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a residence located within the 32000 block of Mission Drive regarding a report of a family disturbance. During the investigation it was determined the intoxicated adult female (arrestee) had become involved in a physical altercation with her seventy one year old mother. Both the mother and arrestee sustained minor injuries. Arrestee also broke out the living room window and caused damage to her mother’s parked vehicle. The mother did not wish to file any charges. The mother declined any medical attention. Arrestee was located outside the residence and found to be in a agitated and intoxicated condition. She was placed into custody and transported to the Madera County Jail due to her inebriated condition and the likelihood the disturbance would continue. Arrestee was detained at the county jail until she had time to become sober. Arrestee was released under the authority of 849 (B) PC. No charges were filed and this case was closed.

Coarsegold domestic dispute at casino
On Thursday, Sept. 21 at 1:01 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to a casino located within the 46000 block of Lucky Lane regarding a report of a domestic dispute. During the investigation it was determined probable cause existed for an arrest of domestic battery charged against the male half. Arrestee was placed into custody without incident and transported the Madera County Jail. Victim had no visible injuries and no complaint of pain. She declined any medical attention. This case has been forwarded to the Madera County DA’s Office for the filing of related charge.

Oakhurst theft
On Thursday, Sept. 21 at 9:24 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to 49000 Chapel Hill Drive regarding theft of gas from a vehicle. Report taken for documentation. Refer report closed until further leads develop.

Bass Lake property found
On Thursday, Sept. 21 at 3:49 a.m. deputies took a lost property report that occurred in the area of the Willow Creek Trail. A report for this incident was generated.

Bass Lake Coroner’s report
On Thursday, Sept. 21 at 9:17 p.m. deputies responded to the area of the 40000 block of Road 222 for a Coroner’s report. A report for this was taken and forwarded to the Chief Coroner.

Coarsegold traffic collision passenger arrested
On Friday, Sept. 22 at midnight, deputies were dispatched to the area of CA-Hwy 41 and Serpa Canyon Road to assist CHP with a single vehicle traffic collision. While CHP was investigating the collision and a possible DUI, the passenger of the vehicle involved began acting belligerent and refused to cooperate and or follow directions given to him by deputies and CHP personnel investigating the incident. The subject was arrested for public intoxication and obstructing an investigation and was transported to Madera County Jail.

Coarsegold Coroner’s report
On Friday, Sept. 22 at 3:53 a.m. deputies were dispatched to the 43000 block of Wells Road West regarding a male subject who had passed away in his sleep. Family had made prior arrangements with a mortuary. Case to be forwarded to the Chief Deputy Coroner for review.

Coarsegold danger to self
On Friday, Sept. 22 at 4:38 a.m. deputies were dispatched to the 35000 block of CA-41, in regards to a male subject banging on the door of a home. According to the reporting party, the male subject stated that he was being followed and was requesting law enforcement. Deputies conducted an investigation and learned that the male subject was a danger to himself and others. The male subject was place in a temporary mental health evaluation hold. A report was completed and case close.

Oakhurst deer attack
On Friday, Sept. 22 at 10:28 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 39000 block of CA-41 in Oakhurst regarding a deer attack. A report taken for documentation purposes only. Forward a copy of this report to Fish and Wildlife Wardens Lentz and Stevenson.

Bass Lake suspicious activity
On Friday, Sept. 22 at 1:13 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the marina view boat launch for suspicious activity. Upon investigation, possible theft of gas from the Sheriff’s boat while it was docked in slip 6 on dock F. Further investigation along the dock showed no other vessels appeared to have open fuel caps.

Oakhurst warrant citation
On Friday, Sept. 22 at 10:09 p.m. deputies responded to the area of the 49000 block for a warrant citation. The subject was contacted and given a citation for his warrant. A report was taken for this incident.

Oakhurst theft
On Saturday, Sept. 23 at 8:06 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 Junction Drive regarding a stolen duffle bag. Refer report suspended until further leads develop.

Oakhurst danger to self
On Sunday, Sept. 24 at 7:33 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a residence located within the 45000 block of Miami Place regarding a report of a female who intentionally took an overdose of prescription medication, with the intent to kill herself. The female was found to be a danger to herself due to a mental condition and placed on a mental health evaluation hold. She was transported to a hospital via ambulance for treatment and/or evaluation. This case has been closed.

Oakhurst warrant citation
On Sunday, Sept. 24 at 8:16 p.m. a deputy contacted an adult male in the area of CA-49 and Road 621. The male was cited on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. Case to be closed.

Friant missing juvenile
On Sunday, Sept. 24 at 11:41 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a gas station in Oakhurst to meet a male regarding a report of a runaway teenage female. During the investigation it was determined the teenage juvenile had runaway from her mother’s residence in Friant earlier in the day and was possibly somewhere in the Oakhurst area with friends. The juvenile was entered into the NCIC Missing and Unidentified Persons System. This case has been forwarded to the Sheriff’s Detective Division for follow up investigation.
