Sheriff’s Crime Log Through Oct. 22

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Monday, Oct. 16  to Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017.

Bass Lake mail theft
On Monday, Oct. 16 at 9:28 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to a telephonic call of mail theft that occurred at Malum Ridge Road and Marina View Drive. A report was written and case was closed due lack of investigative leads.

Oakhurst theft
On Monday, Oct. 16 at 10:28 a.m. a deputy responded to a theft report that occurred in the 51000 block of Road 426. The report was conducted on the telephone. No suspect(s) or investigative leads. Case to be closed.

Coarsegold suspicious person
On Monday, Oct. 16 at 4:30 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 31000 block of N. Dome Drive  regarding a suspicious male who was harassing a female at her residence. The subject was alleging to be a home inspector without providing any identification. The male was later located and informed about the laws of trespassing on private property. Case to be closed.

Oakhurst warrant arrest
On Monday, Oct. 16 at 7:13 p.m. a deputy was conducting follow-up investigation in the 49000 block of Pierce Drive. During this investigation a male subject was contacted and found to have three misdemeanor warrants out of Madera County. The male subject was arrest, cited and released for the warrants. Case closed by arrest.

Coarsegold neighbors’ dispute
On Monday, Oct. 16 at 9:18 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a residence located within the 43000 block of Trabuco Road, regarding a report of an incident. During the investigation it was determined the problem was related to an ongoing neighbor dispute. Although no criminal act was committed during this incident, this case was generated for documentation only. This case has been closed.

North Fork domestic incident and fire
On Monday, Oct. 16 at 10:32 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the 33000 block of Willow Creek Drive in regards to a residential fire. Upon arrival it was discovered that the location of occurrence was the same as a reported domestic incident earlier in the day. An investigation was conducted and a male subject was arrested for criminal threats. Forward to the Madera County DA to pursue charges.

Coarsegold domestic disturbance
On Tuesday, Oct. 17 at 11:02 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 30000 block of Stetson Drive regarding a domestic disturbance. A report was written for informational purposes and case was closed.

Coarsegold domestic disturbance
On Tuesday, Oct. 17 at 5:41 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 31000 block of Revis Road regarding a domestic disturbance. An investigation was conducted. A report was written for documentation purposes.

Coarsegold warrant arrest
On Tuesday, Oct. 17 at 7:59 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 32000 block of Sunset Ridge Road East regarding a possible domestic disturbance. During the investigation a male subject was found to have a misdemeanor warrant out of Madera County. The subject was arrested, cited and released on scene for the warrant. The investigation for the domestic disturbance proved to be unfounded. Case closed by arrest.

Oakhurst warrant arrest
On Tuesday, Oct. 17 at 10:55 pm. a deputy was on routine patrol in a marked Sheriff’s patrol vehicle. Upon arriving at the Oakhurst Library, located within the 49000 block of Civic Circle, the deputy observed a male sitting in front of the library during closed hours. A record check revealed the male had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for his arrest. The male was placed into custody, issued a citation, and released from custody. This case has been closed.

Coarsegold report of possible child abuse
On Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 11:25 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 31000 block of N. Dome regarding a report of possible child abuse. After investigation it was determined there was no abuse. Report was written for documentation and case was closed.

Oakhurst fraud
On Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 5:04 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of Hwy 49. A report was written, evidence obtained, arrest made, charges filed, and case closed by arrest.

Coarsegold trespassing and grand theft
On Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 5:41 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 33000 block of Skyline Ridge Trail regarding trespassing. Upon arrival a vehicle was observed leaving the property with the passenger matching the description of the trespassing party. Upon conducting an investigative traffic stop the passenger ran from the vehicle and was not located, however he was positively identified and found to be on parole. The driver of the vehicle was subsequently arrested for grand theft related to the trespassing call. He was transported and booked into Madera DOC. Charges to be filed with the Madera District Attorneys Office and state parole on the identified subject. The vehicle involved was stored.

Oakhurst domestic disturbance
On Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 7:01 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 49000 of River Park Road regarding a domestic disturbance. A report was taken for criminal threats. Case to be forwarded to the District Attorney for filing charges.

Oakhurst attempted scam
On Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 8:32 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 45000 block of N. Oakview Dr. in regards to a report of a possible attempted scam. This case was written for documentation only and has been closed.

North Fork investigation documented
On Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 9:27 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a residence located within the 31000 block of Arrowhead Trail. An eighteen-year-old male reportedly exposed his genitals to a seven-year-old male. The older male was found to be mentally challenged. During the investigation it was determined no criminal activity occurred, however this case was written for documentation only. This case has been closed.

Coarsegold warrant citation
On Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 11:22 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Chukchansi Road regarding a possible domestic disturbance. There was no crime involved in the incident. The involved female was cited for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant and released. Case to be closed.

Ahwahnee burglary attempt
On Thursday, Oct. 19 at 11:46 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 44000 block of Foxy Lane regarding a burglary. The victim advised that someone kicked open a door, but did not steal anything. She requested a report for documentation.

Coarsegold driver cited, vehicle towed
On Thursday, Oct. 19 at 1:31 p.m. a deputy stopped a vehicle for expired registration tags. The driver of the vehicle was operating on an expired license. The driver was cited and the vehicle was towed.

Coarsegold disturbance
On Friday, Oct. 20 at 12:14 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 31000 block of CA-41 regarding a disturbance. Neither party requested charges filed. Refer report closed.

North Fork danger to self
On Friday, Oct. 20 at 11:19 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the 33000 block of Cascadel Road, in regards to an incomplete 911 call. Upon arrival deputies interviewed all parties involved and conducted an investigation. Deputies learned that an elderly woman was at risk. She was taken to the hospital for an evaluation as a gravely disable adult. Case pending additional follow up investigation.

Bass Lake open mail box cluster
On Saturday, Oct. 21 at 2:35 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the intersection of Road 426 and Road 423 regarding an open mail box cluster. It appeared the mail carrier did not secure the mail box cluster. Mail was collected and held at the Oakhurst substation.

Coarsegold woman found deceased
On Saturday, Oct. 21 at 6:30 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the 30000 block of Yosemite Springs Parkway in regards to a welfare check of a person who had not been seen for approx. one to two weeks. Deputies conducted an investigation and entered the home. Deputies discovered an unresponsive body of a female in one of the bedrooms, where she was found to be deceased. Case forward to Deputy Chief Corner office and the detective unit.

Coarsegold intoxicated person, failure to yield results in vehicle pursuit
On Saturday, Oct. 21 at 8:24 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the Chevron Gas Station regarding an intoxicated male causing a disturbance and refusing to leave. The suspect was involved in a failure to yield upon being contacted by the Sheriff’s Department resulting in a vehicle pursuit. The pursuit terminated in Fresno County and the suspect was placed in custody and later booked for felony failure to yield. Report to be forwarded to the District Attorney for filing charges.

Coarsegold burglary
On Sunday, Oct. 22 at 9:19 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 34000 block of Berenda Street due to a burglary. Photos were taken of damaged property, stolen items documented and a report was written.

Oakhurst mailbox vandalism
On Sunday, Oct. 22 at 10:47 p.m. a deputy conducted a patrol check in the 40000 block of Hodges Hill Drive and discovered a community mailbox that had been vandalized. There were no suspect(s) or witnesses.

Coarsegold mail theft and vandalism
On Sunday, Oct. 22 at 10:25 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to Delaware Road and Road 417 due to a report of mail theft and vandalism. Photos were taken, evidence was collected and booked into the Madera County Sheriff’s Office, statements were collected and a report was written.

On Sunday, Oct. 22 at 10:29 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to Road 417 and Apache Road due to a report of mail theft and vandalism. Photos were taken and a report was written.

Coarsegold theft
On Sunday, Oct. 22 at 2:51 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 35000 block of CA-41 in regards to a theft of mail from a community mailbox. A report was taken for documentation and one piece of evidence is booked for analysis. Currently, there are no suspect(s) or witnesses. See narrative for details.

Oakhurst theft
On Sunday, Oct. 22 at 3:27 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 45000 block of Lauri Lane in regards to a theft report. Upon arrival the victim was contacted and a report was taken. There were no suspect(s) or witnesses.
